Terms of service

The rules for using the SwapGo website and web app. Please read them, especially the parts on crypto risks and the limits of our responsibility. How we handle your data is in our privacy policy.

Accepting these terms
By visiting the SwapGo website or using the SwapGo web app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
Some features, such as the SwapGo card, come with extra terms that you’ll see before you use them. If those extra terms conflict with these, the extra terms apply to that feature.
Who we are
The site and the web app are provided by the company that operates SwapGo (“SwapGo”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at help@swapgo.com.
Who can use SwapGo
To use SwapGo you must:
- be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that’s higher
- be able to enter into a binding agreement
- not be subject to sanctions, or live somewhere that the law prohibits you from using SwapGo
- not have had your access ended by us before
Some features may not be available in every country.
The services
- The site is swapgo.com, where we explain what SwapGo is.
- The web app is SwapGo’s privacy-first crypto wallet, where you can swap, bridge and spend crypto, and apply for the SwapGo Visa card. The card has its own terms and an application process, and approval isn’t guaranteed.
- The enterprise service is crypto settlement for businesses such as gambling and gaming platforms, swap services and online stores. It is only available under a separate written agreement. Businesses build it into their own product and keep the relationship with their own customers. It doesn’t provide individual or retail accounts.
These terms cover the site and the web app. The enterprise service is governed by its own agreement.
No financial advice
Nothing on the site or in the app is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Information about tokens, networks, prices or features is general and may be out of date. You decide what to do with your crypto, and you should get independent advice if you need it.
Crypto risks
Crypto carries real risks. Before you use SwapGo, make sure you understand them:
- Prices move fast. Crypto can rise or fall sharply in minutes, and can lose some or all of its value.
- Transactions can’t be undone. Once a transaction is confirmed on a blockchain, neither we nor anyone else can reverse it. Crypto sent to the wrong address or on the wrong network is usually lost.
- Networks charge fees. Blockchains charge network fees that are set by the network, not by us. They change with demand and may not be refunded if a transaction fails.
- Third-party networks can fail. Swaps, bridges and payments rely on blockchains, bridges, liquidity sources and other services that we don’t control. They can be slow, congested, attacked or stop working.
- Privacy has limits. SwapGo is designed to make your activity harder to link together, but no tool can promise complete anonymity.
- Rules change. The laws and tax treatment of crypto differ between countries and can change, which may affect what you can do.
Your responsibilities
Keep your wallet safe
You’re responsible for your recovery phrase, private keys, passwords and the devices you use SwapGo on. Where your wallet is secured by keys or a recovery phrase that only you hold, we can’t see, reset or recover them, and anyone who has them can move your funds. Check addresses, networks and amounts before you confirm.
Use SwapGo lawfully
You must follow the laws that apply to you, including tax rules. You must not use SwapGo to:
- launder money, finance terrorism, avoid sanctions or commit fraud
- move funds that come from crime
- hack, probe, overload or disrupt the site or the app, or get around their security
- introduce malware, or scrape, copy or reverse engineer SwapGo, except where the law allows it
- pretend to be someone else, or act for someone without their permission
- infringe anyone’s rights
If we reasonably believe you are breaking these rules, we may limit or end your access and report it where the law requires.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep SwapGo running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may update, change, pause or remove features for maintenance, security or legal reasons, or because the product has moved on. When a change significantly affects you, we’ll try to give you notice where we reasonably can.
Coming-soon features
Some things we mention are marked as coming soon, such as the mobile apps, the Chrome extension, the API docs and our community channels. They aren’t available yet, their details may change, and we can’t promise when or whether they will launch. When they do, they may come with their own terms.
Intellectual property
SwapGo’s name, logo, cat, design, text, graphics and software belong to us or the people who license them to us, and are protected by law.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the site and the app for what they’re meant for, under these terms. We can withdraw it if you break them. You may not copy, change, distribute or use our brand or content without our written permission, except where the law allows, like sharing a link.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
Third-party links and services
The site and the app may link to or rely on things we don’t run, such as blockchains, other wallets, exchanges, bridges, card partners and other websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is covered by their own terms.
Disclaimers
SwapGo is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that the services are fit for a particular purpose, of satisfactory quality, or don’t infringe anyone’s rights.
We don’t promise that the services will meet your needs, that information on them is accurate or complete, or that they are free of viruses or other harmful code. Some countries don’t allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, SwapGo and its directors, employees and partners are not liable for:
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses
- lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill
- losses from price movements, network fees, or failed or delayed transactions
- problems with blockchains, bridges or other third-party services
- losses from lost or stolen keys, recovery phrases or devices, or from transactions you authorised
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using SwapGo, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, as far as the law allows.
Ending your use of SwapGo
You can stop using SwapGo at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect SwapGo, its users or others.
The parts of these terms that are meant to last, such as crypto risks, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, keep applying after your access ends.
Governing law and disputes
If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, nothing in these terms takes that right away.
Before starting a formal claim, please email help@swapgo.com so we can try to sort it out together.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top always shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know on the site or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using SwapGo after that, you accept the updated terms.
General
- If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up.
- You can’t transfer these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a successor business.
- These terms, together with any extra terms for specific features and our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site and the app.
